At CrossFit Junkies we focus our programing to honor basic human needs of sleep, nutrition, movement and social connection. We believe a simple approach will help you find balance in your life. We are a non-medical health care provider using strength and conditioning, real food nutrition, and a personal approach to developing a healthier you.

CrossFit Fundamentals

What is Fundamentals?

Fundamentals consists of (3) 1.5 hour classes. During each class we will learn and practice several exercises/movements/skills that we utilize during normal CrossFit workouts. We will discuss how the box works, some of the language that is specific to CrossFit, and do a WOD (Workout of the Day). Each day there will be information to take home to review and some that will prepare you for the next class. Because learning the movements can take some time, we slow the pace down to really learn the technique and safety of each movement. Fundamentals is required for all who are new to the sport of CrossFit. Members must attend all classes in order to move on for your first group WOD. Contact CrossFit Junkies to arrange for a FREE introductory class and to reserve a spot in the next Fundamentals course. What is CrossFit?

  • CrossFit is constantly varied functional movement performed at high intensity. Okay, you’ve heard that before but what does that mean? Constantly Varied: everyday you walk in the box we have a workout programmed for you that will challenge you in different ways, different movements, different time domains, different fitness modalities (cardio, weightlifting, gymnastics, etc).

  • Functional movements:

    These are movements ingrained in our DNA! Squats, deadlifts, pressing overhead, pulling ourselves over objects, jumping, running, rowing, the movements are complex in that they use multiple muscle groups at the same time, with our focus being on moving the right way as opposed to isolating specific muscles. Yes that’s right, no more bi’s and tri’s on Friday before your weekend, but you might see muscle-ups (a pull-up into a ring dip) in the programming.

  • High Intensity:

    Adding the intensity piece is the game changer! Now, not only are we doing strengthening movements, but we are constantly moving from one movement to another, with little to no rest in between.

  • So you can squat 400 lbs., that’s awesome! Now can you squat 185 lbs. 10 times after running 400 meters and then do 15 Hand Stand push-ups and repeat that 5 times? No longer are we just building strength but we are also improving our cardiovascular and muscular endurance. Say hello to a whole new ball game, and what the heck are these muscles I never even knew existed, and why are they sore?

Strong Bodies and Smart Minds
KidsFIT is a fun-filled 60 minute class where your child, ages 8-12, will be challenged and inspired to grow in their fitness.

We engage in fun warmups, challenge them with gymnastics, weightlifting and endurance based skills followed by cardiovascular and interval training workouts and finish the hour by cooling down with stretching. This class is designed to meet each child where they are at regardless if they are currently enrolled in sports or not. If you’re looking for an excellent after school movement based program for your child, you found it. With our prescription of “constantly varied, functional movement,” your child will not only gain better body awareness, but will sustain fewer injuries over the course of their life and improve their cognitive function through activity.

Barbell Club

This class is dedicated to improving your strength and proficiency in all things pertaining to lifting. In this 60-minute class, you’ll receive hands-on attention regarding the snatch, clean and jerk and more to increase your stability, mobility and strength. Olympic weightlifting provides an incredible foundation for improving your mobility and stability when it comes to lifting.
